During its 40+ years of operation, UTS:Engineering has become a preferred centre of study for aspiring engineers and those wishing to gain specialist postgraduate and research qualifications.  We have also developed close relations with industry over this period to enhance our teaching, the practical experience of our students and diversity and relevance of our research.

> Has been included in Band A1 for teaching and learning by the Australian Government. This achievement has contributed to UTS being top-ranked in teaching and learning in the Australian Government's 2008 Learning and Teaching Performance Fund.

> Is the only engineering Faculty in Australia to offer the Diploma in Engineering Practice award – giving students a total of one year of paid** work experience with industry before they graduate; 90% of employers of UTS interns said the students contributions to their business was high to very high
