WHY ENGINEERING AT UTS ?

> Our graduates are in demand. In 2006, 94% of UTS:Engineering graduates available for full-time work had found professional employment. Our graduates also enjoy starting salaries above the national average.*

> You'll gain real-world experience. Unlike any other course, our degrees offer two six-month periods of internship in industry – working with professional engineers as a trainee engineer. These internships offer real-world experience and the opportunity to build on and develop applied knowledge.

> We're flexible. You can set your own learning pace. Subjects and timetables are flexible so that you can match your work, family and financial commitments. Courses are offered full-time and part-time with day, evening and weekend class times. Some subjects are offered in block study mode.

> You can choose from a wide range of courses and options. You can choose your major field of study when you begin or as you progress – you do not need to finally decide on your major until the end of first year and even after first year it is possible to change majors with the minimum of lost time. You can specialise or broaden your studies by completing a sub-major or electives. Options include language studies, international studies, computing sciences, design, law, business and science as well as specialist engineering fields such as biomedical, mechatronics or materials science.

> We offer global opportunities. See the world through our student exchange programs, our combined degree with international studies or even do one of your internships overseas.

> We offer cooperative scholarships. Jump-start your career with one of approx. 20 Co-operative Scholarships. Scholars get to meet and develop relationships with industry sponsors right from the start of their degree. If you are from a rural or regional area, you might want to apply for one of 20 RTA Rural Engineering Scholarships.
