Local applications for all engineering postgraduate coursework degrees are made through:

UTS at an Engineering Information Session
Every semester, UTS: Engineering hold at least two information sessions where prospective students have an opportunity to apply direct to UTS and avoid paying the application fee. To apply you must bring the necessary documentation as outlined in the next section.

Documentation requirements - Applying at a UTS: Engineering Information Session
You must ensure that you bring with you all the necessary supporting original documentation and photocopies. If any documents are not in English, you must provide an official translation as well as the original language document. Documents include:
- an official academic transcript or record of study (note: transcripts printed from institution websites will not be accepted)
- evidence of completion of study if this is not stated on the academic record
- provide evidence of name change if applicable
- provide translations of any documents not in English
- provide proof of English proficiency if medium of instruction at undergraduate level was not in English (IELTS results etc)
- provide proof of Australian citizenship or Permanent Residence if not born in Australia
For applicants without a degree, please provide:
- TAFE certificate and
- up-to-date resume
English Language Requirements
Students whose prior education was not conducted in English are required to meet one of the following minimum English Language Requiremets:
- IELTS (Academic version) score of 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing; or
- TOEFL (paper based) score of 575 with TWE 4.5; or
- TOEFL (computer based) score of 231 with essay rating 4.5; or
- TOEFL (internet based) score of 90 with essay rating 21; or
- Cult overall score of 65; or
- Completed TAFE Certificate IV in English for Academic Purposes or Diploma; or
- Successful completion of the Insearch UTS Direct Entry English Program (DEEP) at C level
- A Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 64
The above English tests must have been done within the last two years.
We will also accept a letter from your university that states that medium of instruction was in English.
Spring semester 2012 intake
Applications for Spring semester 2012 open from April 2012.
The application deadlines are:
- Round 1 - 31 May 2012
- Round 2 – 29 June 2012
