Why not look at some of the short courses or single subjects offered by UTS:Engineering. SINGLE SUBJECTS/NON-AWARD STUDYIf you need to develop your skills in a specific area, you'll find that most subjects offered in the Faculty can be studied as a single subject (provided you have met the subject pre-requisites). Click here for a list of subjects with subject outlines. In future, if you decide to undertake further study, you can use your UTS postgraduate engineering subjects to apply for Advanced Standing towards a Graduate Certificate in Engineering or one of our Masters programs (for a Masters program, the subjects chosen must meet the requirements of the Masters program). To apply, simply complete the Non Award Study Application Form. Tunnel Design and Construction short course, 28 - 30 Sept 2009 Hosted by the Australasian Tunnelling Society in conjunction with the University of Technology, the three day certified Tunnel Design & Construction short course will be the industry training event of the year. They have been examined and found competent to carry out playground inspections in accordance with the requirements of Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4486.1:1997. These individuals have undertaken to abide by the Code of Ethics and are personally responsible for the quality of their work. Inclusion on this Register does not guarantee the suitability of those included to work in an environment where children may be present. contact Contaminated Site Short Courses There is an increasing demand for environmental professionals with CSARM experience. It is a complex field of environmental management and, with the support of NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) and industry consultants, UTS Science Department of Environmental Sciences has developed a program of eight short course modules to help environmental professionals update their specific area of expertise, extend their knowledge base and network with colleagues in industry and government. Commencing in February 2009 each module runs for three days and includes a mixture of seminars, field trips and laboratory sessions to provide a flexible and interactive learning program.
